School Programs

Tasha Belix offers her youth-focused services to schools that want to conduct on-site workshops relevant to targeted aged groups. All programs can be scheduled during school hours, lunch periods, immediately after school or packaged as a half day action-packed seminar.

DECISION MAKING – HEALTHY CHOICES FOR TEENS

Grades:

6 To 9, Co-Ed Classroom

Type:

Minimum half day workshop or workshop series – 5 consecutive classes, 45-60 minutes.

Class Size:

Preferred maximum, 25 students

•    Brain Science in the Teen Years
•    Decision-making Model
•    Decisions with Drugs & Alcohol
•    Healthy Relationships

Half Day:

$400 (3.5 hours)

Workshops:

5 workshops, flat fee – $500 for a 5 session series (one class will receive full program)

JUST BREATHE – STRESS REDUCTION AND HEALTHY COPING STRATEGIES

Grades:

6 To 9, Co-Ed Classroom

Dealing with the stresses of being a teen can be challenging: balancing the demands of family, school-work and friends can leave teens feeling overwhelmed. The worrisome part is that teens usually do not have the skills to deal with it in a healthy way. This aim of this series is to empower students with an understanding of how stress can impact our body/our thinking and how it can be managed with healthy coping tools.

Workshop series, 5 consecutive classes, 45-60 minutes per class.

•    “Stink’n Think’n”
•    How the Brain Works
•    Skills to Improve Learning and Relaxation

STAND UP - LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Grades:

6 To 9, Co-Ed Classroom

“Leadership is action, not position,” Donald H. McGannon. This is 5 session workshop is aimed at empowering youth through leadership activities. Discussions will challenge each student to think about what they do and do not stand for. Through active participation, students learn that they have the power to create the school environment of their choice. Students will gain increased confidence and a greater acceptance of themselves and others.

B’TWEEN GIRLS GROUPS

Grades:

Grades 6 to 9, girls only (same age grouping preferred)

Class size:

Up to 10 students to maintain therapeutic impact

This 8 week curriculum can be customized to meet the needs of the grades being addressed. The aim of B’tween Girls is a therapeutic group, to discuss issues and concerns of interest to girls in the tween years. Each girl has the opportunity to take a closer look at her inner world and share her ideas, feelings and concepts of the world in a safe setting. Art therapy and movement exercises are incorporated in order to make the class fun as well as engaging.

Fees:

Flat Rate for School Funded program:

$1,000 for 8 -1.0 hour sessions (lunch hour)
$1,500 for 8 – 1.5 hour sessions (afterschool)

Parent Funded Program:

$200 per girl, paid through www.tashabelix.com
