Emergency Child Welfare, Child Abuse Hotline
Gina Biegel, the developer of Mindfulness Stress-Reduction Program for Teens offers invaluable information and exercise to deal with your anxiety and living in the moment. This is a great website for teens, parents and professionals.
An inspirational movement that brings girls together to lift each other up, instead of pushing each other down. I AM A GIRL hopes to transform self-doubt in girls and women, into self-love. Every day, girls are bombarded with messages that attack what she is NOT, instead of working every day to help her love who SHE IS. Check it out…maybe even start your own chapter?
Smart Girls is dedicated to the art of being yourself. It is a channel that offers music, advice, glimpses into other cultures, nice things to put into the world, and a Boy’s minute. This is a beautiful collection personal stories and interviews, showing how social media can allow girls to gather their voices and give a powerful, positive message. A specialized counselling center in Calgary that offers girls, young women & families treatment to address eating disorders and emotional health issues. Inner Solutions 403.301.3399 A clinic that offers a variety of treatment options for adolescents and young adults presented with BPD behaviours. This clinic uses a DBT-A approach (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy for Adolescents, aged 14 and older to teach skills for a more integrated way of being.

Age appropriate programming is provided to girls aged 5 -17 in weekly community groups across Canada that teach girls to be confident, resourceful and courageous.

Provides services for those with learning disabilities and attention issues (AD/HD), of any age, free of charge. Also a good resource for professionals and families who support those with ADHD.

Under the direction of Dr. Truch, children are given an educational assessment and then provided with a unique learning program to meet their needs. This is a service for fee, which provides specialized remedial programs and intensive one-to-one immersion programs that bring lasting gains in reading, spelling comprehension and math for learners of all ages. This program changed my daughter’s attitude and confidence with school. The teachers are amazing!

Parent Support Association of Calgary PSA Info/Support Line - (403) 270-1819
This association supports parents in conflict with their teen’s behavior. The teen years are about self-discovery, independence and taking risks. When we feel that our youth are making poor decisions and/or are involved in activities we don’t support, our reaction to try and control the situation can often make it worse. Using various programs and services, the PSA teaches parents learn how to tailor their approach for better results.

Parent Support Group
A newly established free movement for anyone impacted by eating disorders, whom wish to build awareness and raise funds to provide better service and treatment options for patients of both genders experiencing struggles with eating disorders.
Calgary Sexual Health - 403-283-5580
Calgary Sexual Health Centre focuses on three areas: Bodies, Relationships and Communities Direct counseling, offering workshops and training to students, parents and professionals. This is a great resource for accurate information related to sexual health, i.e. pregnancy test, pregnancy options, gender identity, STI information, healthy decision making in relationships, how to be a supportive parent.
Sexual and Reproductive Health – Clinical Services – 403-955-6500
Free pregnancy test & STI screening, low cost birth control and contraception available on a drop-in basis. Males and females age 24 years and younger and any person with barriers to service (e.g. no healthcare, low income, language issues) eligible to use this service.
The Alex Youth Health Center – 403 520-6270
A one-stop hub for medical and psychosocial support for youth under 24 years of age who are experiencing barriers getting medical treatment youth workers due to poverty, mental health and homelessness. Provides anonymous, free STI screening & pregnancy tests, family physicians and medical resources available.
